Join this Continuing Professional Development session and equip yourself with tools and an in-depth understanding of Shakespeare’s timeless comedy of wit and wooing, Much Ado About Nothing, to enhance your teaching in the classroom. This is an in-person event hosted on-site at Shakespeare’s Globe.
Aimed at secondary teachers, with a particular focus on Key Stage 4, the session will demonstrate how to use practical, rehearsal room techniques to enliven and deepen your students’ understanding of the play’s characters, context, themes and imagery, and develop their critical thinking skills.
You’ll complete your experience by watching a matinee performance of Much Ado About Nothing in the Globe itself.
This CPD is production-specific, highlighting themes and concepts pertinent to our 2024 production.
Your experience includes:
- A tour of the Globe Theatre
- A two-and-a-half-hour workshop with an expert practitioner
- A seated ticket to the matinee performance of Much Ado About Nothing and complimentary programme
- A teacher resource pack to help you embed your learning in the classroom
About the production
After years of war, young lovers Claudio and Hero, and sparring singletons Beatrice and Benedick, are about to find out that all is not as it seems in their idyllic, Italian paradise… Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes (The Tempest, ★★★★ ‘super-fun’ Time Out) directs this Elizabethan-dress production.
